What We Do

Our mission is to find homes for needy dogs and cats.  We adopt, foster and volunteer to help animals find forever homes. Thousands of lost, abandoned and stray animals are euthanized every year in New Mexico. Susie Fares conceived her rescue organization to rescue and find homes for animals in Santa Fe County and the Albuquerque area.

Peace of Mind Rescue of New Mexico also provides information and resources for spay/neutering and vaccination clinics in the Santa Fe County area, Chavez County, and Lincoln County.

Fostering Saves Lives

Help us foster. Peace of Mind Rescue of New Mexico places dogs and cats into temporary foster homes until qualified permanent homes are found for them. Our volunteer foster families work tireless hours feeding and caring for these abandoned animals until they are socialized and ready for adoption.

Adoption Events

Volunteers and staff transport our animals into the community in an effort to help make it easier for potential families to meet and adopt our available cats and dogs. We hold mobile adoptions at several local retailers. We also participate in many local adoption events.  We also provide microchipping events.
